No. Garden beds and sensitive planting get covered and pre-wetted before we start, and everything is rinsed down afterwards. We use EPA-approved products at the lowest effective dilution — the same ones used on school and council roofs.

Only if we need access through the house or to an internal tap. Otherwise no — most jobs run start to finish with nobody home. We photograph every job before and after, so there’s never any doubt about what was done.

Light rain is fine, and often helps. Anything heavier or a gusty southerly and we reschedule — working at height in bad weather is how people get hurt. You get a call, not a no-show, and the next available slot.

That is exactly why we mostly don’t use pressure. Painted cladding gets a soft wash at low pressure. Roofs are never blasted — they’re either treated with a biocide that kills moss and lichen at the root and lets the weather finish the job, or soft washed clean on the day. High pressure is reserved for concrete, pavers and hard surfaces.

A house wash typically takes 2–5 hours and gutters 1–3 hours. Roofs run from a couple of hours for a treatment up to a full day for a wash, depending on pitch and access. Your quote states the expected duration up front.
