The Guarantee
1.1 Our Promise
Pinnacle Building Wash Limited (“we,” “us,” “our”) guarantees that following the completion of our RoofShield™ Treatment System, the treated areas of your roof will have no new moss, mould, or lichen growth for a period of 12 months from the date of the second treatment visit. If new growth appears within this period, we will provide a free booster treatment at no additional cost.
1.2 What “No New Growth” Means
“No new growth” means that the treated areas of the roof remain free from new moss, mould, lichen, or algae establishing during the 12-month guarantee period. This includes both new growth and regrowth occurring on areas that were treated as part of the RoofShield™ Treatment System.
1.3 How the RoofShield™ Treatment System Works
The RoofShield™ Treatment System is a two-visit treatment system. We apply a specialised product across two separate visits that kills moss, mould, and lichen by loosening their bond with your roof surface. The dead organisms are then naturally removed over time by rainfall and wind. A follow-up call is included to check on progress.
1.4 Guarantee Start Date
The 12-month guarantee period begins on the date of the second treatment visit, which marks the completion of the full RoofShield™ Treatment System service. The guarantee does not commence until both visits have been carried out.
Eligibility
2.1 Who Is Covered
This guarantee applies to all residential and commercial customers who have a RoofShield™ Treatment System service listed on an invoice issued by Pinnacle Building Wash Limited.
2.2 Conditions for Eligibility
(a) Both RoofShield™ Treatment System visits must have been completed by Pinnacle Building Wash Limited or an authorised subcontractor acting on our behalf.
(b) Full payment for the RoofShield™ Treatment System must have been received.
(c) The claim must be made within the 12-month guarantee period.
(d) The roof must not be subjected to conditions that materially increase organic growth risk, such as persistent moisture retention caused by blocked gutters, overhanging vegetation, or structural defects, unless disclosed and addressed.
Booster Treatment
3.1 How to Claim
(a) Contact us by phone on (04) 887 5430 or by email at info@pbw.co.nz to notify us that new growth has appeared on treated areas within the guarantee period.
(b) You must provide photographic evidence of the new growth on the treated areas to support your claim.
(c) Determination of whether new growth has established will be made by Pinnacle Building Wash Limited acting reasonably based on the evidence provided.
(d) If the claim is accepted, we will schedule the booster treatment at a mutually convenient time.
(e) If you are unable to provide photographic evidence (for example, if the claim is based on a third party's observation), we may arrange an on-site inspection. If the inspection determines that the treatment is not covered under the guarantee, a call-out fee will apply.
3.2 What the Booster Includes
(a) The booster treatment covers a re-application of the roof treatment product to the originally treated areas.
(b) There is no charge for the booster treatment, including labour and product costs.
(c) The booster treatment does not restart or extend the guarantee period. No further booster treatments are included beyond the first.
Exclusions & Limitations
4.1 What Is Not Covered
This guarantee does not cover:
(a) New growth that appears after the 12-month guarantee period has expired.
(b) Areas of the roof that were not included in the original treatment scope.
(c) Situations where the property owner or a third party has applied additional products or treatments to the roof that may interfere with our product.
(d) The gradual removal of existing dead organisms, which occurs naturally over time through rainfall and wind and is not considered new growth.
4.2 Limitation of Liability
(a) Our liability under this guarantee is limited to the provision of one free booster treatment as described in Section 3.
(b) We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the roof treatment or this guarantee.
(c) This guarantee is provided in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (where applicable) or any other New Zealand law.
General
5.1 Relationship to Other Terms
This guarantee is subject to and should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Trade. In the event of any conflict, our Terms of Trade will prevail.
5.2 Property-Based Guarantee
This guarantee is attached to the property on which the treatment was performed and remains valid for the duration of the guarantee period regardless of changes in property ownership.
5.3 Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these guarantee terms from time to time. Any changes will apply to treatments performed after the date of amendment. Existing guarantees will remain subject to the terms in place at the time of treatment.
5.4 Governing Law
This guarantee is governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising in connection with this guarantee will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
Important Notice
The RoofShield™ Treatment System kills existing growth, which is then gradually removed by rainfall and wind over the following weeks and months. The presence of dead organisms during this period is normal and is not considered new growth. The guarantee covers no new growth for 12 months from the date of the second treatment visit.
